Sponsorship Opportunities

I am writing to ask you to be a key sponsor in a visually enhanced republication and printing of the Aspen literary classic, To Aspen and Back: An American Journey by Peggy Clifford with its introduction by Hunter S. Thompson.  

I have worked for 10 years to bring this important book back to life: securing the rights from Peggy; researching at the Aspen Historical Society to find Aspen’s greatest photographs; collaborating with longtime Aspenite photographer David Hiser to add over 200 images which richly complement and illustrate Peggy’s writing; and refining the new edition through an intensive design process that is now at version 44.  

We are finally ready to publish this enhanced classic and need community partners to make it happen. Publication will complete a trilogy of lavishly illustrated books on Aspen’s history that I have produced over the past decade that are a mainstay on coffee tables across the valley.  

To make the book a reality I need like-minded Aspenites who care about our community’s past to help with the extensive printing expense of this large book - 232 pages with 206 images.  

As a longtime supporter of the arts and local history, your participation and sponsorship of this project will allow Peggy’s unique chronicle of Aspen to be reborn. Your support will be acknowledged in the book’s introductory pages on an elaborately designed book plate in recognition of the critical role you played in bringing this book to life.  In addition, sponsors will be entitled to a number of signed copies of the book.  I believe this book is the best ever written about our town.  I am hoping that you will agree and help make this vision into a reality.
